Public glossaries / FAQs

As part of websites that are essentially structured as graph-like column structures and based on linear content consumption, many online presences include non-linear content consumption sections. Hardly visited FAQs, dictionaries, knowledge bases and glossaries – often hiding in some forgotten sub-menu of a company site: difficult to find and use them.

It is clear that user demand for such more complex wiki-structured content did not disappear, but the publishing technology to match the evolution of digital marketing and user expectations was lacking.

Case study

“We have explored a number of publishing tools to update the professional glossary of IAB Hungary to meet today’s technological requirements. Pressonline CMS was the only platform we tested that offered the solutions we were looking for, such as a SaaS-based cost-effective solution, integrated and automated SEO, and easy administration.”

Pál Papliczky
Managing Director / IAB Hungary

IAB Hungary is a member of the Hungarian Advertising Association, the Hungarian representative of the international professional organisation, the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB), and member of the IAB Europe. The organisation was founded by 46 companies: agencies, publishers, research companies, advertisers and other service providers active in the online advertising market.

Its fundamental purpose is to develop the digital marketing industry by increasing awareness, use and adaption of online, interactive, digital marketing and advertising solutions. An important tool for this is the IAB Dictionary, which provides definitions of key terms used in digital advertising and digital marketing.

The IAB Dictionary was originally developed using a WordPress plugin but is now technically obsolete partly due to changing user requirements over the years. After investigating several possible publishing platforms, it was decided to renew the glossary using the Pressonline CMS.

The IAB Dictionary, based on the Pressonline CMS, now includes the most important terms in digital marketing in ten easy-to-search categories. Each grouping and article is automatically displayed on a separate URL with organic reach growth supported by the automatic integrated SEO service of the Pressonline CMS platform. The complete administration of the IAB Dictionary (uploading and updating content) is carried out by IAB staff through the platform’s online administration system.

Let’s look at the differences between traditional glossary applications and Pressonline CMS!
